About

Hello reader and friend

My name is Gareth David Lipunga. I am a Child of God. I am currently studying medicine at the Malawi College of Medicine. When asked about my hobbies I usually respond by saying people (smiles to himself). But I do enjoy writing as well as other forms of art (piano- watch this space!! 😀 )

A few years ago I came across the story of Mary and Martha. On one of the days the two sisters received a special guest: Jesus (that doesn’t happen everyday). The story goes like this:

38 Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; 42 but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42 (New American Standard Bible)

Before us are two sisters with two different responses at the visitation of Jesus: one chooses to be with her guest whilst the other remains occupied with the hopes of making her guest “feel at home.” Many are the times that I have remained busy and occupied only to realize that Jesus is in the “living room” and I elsewhere. Has our disposition as the followers of Christ been duty and activity as opposed to what He has actually called us for, relationship and intimacy?

I want to be found at His feet. And it is my desire and prayer that as we follow Him we are all found at His feet. The purpose of this blog is to stir, by the power of His Holy Spirit, the desire to want real relationship with Him and henceforth walk in it. My great need and your need is and always will be Jesus. Join me on this journey as we individually and collectively seek deeper intimacy and relationship with our Saviour-: Jesus!

From His feet
